I’ve used the resist technique with gel medium and ink but never with the spray. LOL! Now I need to find out where I can find those sprays. To be honest I actually like the effect better with the matte than with the glossy. But then each to their own.

loved watching you play Natalie – you inspire me to be a ‘dirty girl’ too lol…. I really want to go in this direction with my crafting. I am currently a card maker but have a lot of products which would lend themselves to being more creative in this kind of direction… the more I see, the more i’m itching to do it… I guess you really are kickstarting my creativity!!!
Thanke you for all the hard work you’ve put into bringing us all these wonderful techniques, artists and creative people – some I’ve heard of before, some I now know thanks to this process – and also thank you for showing off the products because without this – I would be wary of investing in some of them because I have limited resources so I can’t buy something that may end up in a cupboard (like most of my card-making stuff) lol.

Sooo wonderful, Nathalie!! Now I know, that I am definitely in need of stencils!! I don’t have any stencils but punchinella…also I have never tried to work with gel medium, although I ‘ve got one (bought it in very big excitement, because I was going to attend my first scrappy event… unfortunately gel medium was on the list for a workshop I didn’t book *LOL*… but finally tonight I will try, how it looks like…:-)
Now I have a new use for my gel medium that has been sitting on my shelf! Thank you!!!

Wonderful technique! I love resist techniques: my favorite is Vaseline resist!
Your page is lovely-I think I’ll start off small and use this technique for a card. I learned I am too chintzy when spraying.Must get brave and spray with gusto!

Finally a use for my gloss gel medium. I only use the matte but have a jar of the shiny stuff sitting on my shelf looking unused and forlorn. Off to give it a try. Thanks.
Love your technique and did not know Maya Road had a mist.
I love using the matte gel and sprays on canvases, paper, water colour paper, tags, cards, …. Great technique.

Yesterday I tried some LO-backgrounds in this technique, 2 with gel medium and 2 with gesso, oh what a great reslult, really love it !!!!!!

I am completely in love with the idea of the book as a place to try different techniques. I can see adding notes about media used, tips and tricks, maybe even drying times. The gel resist is another fun technique. Thanks for the tip about cleaning finely detailed stencils. I might not have thought about that. I’m a dirty girl too, as I love seeing the color mixes and artifacts of use on my tools.

A nice quick easy yet highly effective technique. This is the kind of thing I need to jumpstart me. Too difficult techniques would just scare me off and I wouldn’t actually do anything with them. I’m now off to do this on another page of my calendar. Thanks heaps

That is awesome!!!!! I have a fresh brand new canvas just in my room calling out to me!! I need to go in and give this a try. I am convinced that I need some of those bright colored sprays too. My sprays are all home-made but I would love to try some brighter colors to mix in.

Great technique! I wonder if it would work on fabric! (obviously not for wearing or washing though) I’m really enjoying CJS!!
I am sure it would work on fabric too- but would recommend stretching the fabric on an embroidery hoop or something to make spreading the gel medium over the stencil easier

It is very difficult to hear your instructions, so it will be great if you detail the materials, it is because i love the tech., Could it be possible? Thanks a lot!
Use a speaker – that should help. NOt sure why on some computers it is not that loud- but usually a speaker helps. I won’t have time to detail the instructions. Nat

Bobbie, it is a Prima Mask- I don’t know if that particular one is still available, but most scrapbooking stores carry Prima and often also their masks. Hope that helps :), Nat
