Joe Rotella’s Jump Start

CJSLogo_500

Last winter when I visited CHA I went to a seminar hold by Joe Rotella. I had heard his name before, I liked his projects, but I didn’t know him. I have visited many seminars, lectures in my life… (oh the happiness of lectures in university with law professors 😉 ) and I have seen many bad ones and a few really good ones. And Joe’s was an outstanding one! It was right on point, the content was great, the presentation was awesome – I was sold 😉 And after seeing what a creative guy he is…I actually am beyond thrilled that he joined us as the only men in the JumpStart arena 🙂

Joe’s mom started the family on crafting. As early as he can remember, his mom was crocheting. When she brought home a Brother knitting machine, he was fascinated and soon he was creating designs from christening dresses to ski wear. He dabbled in macramé, string art and latch hooked rugs when they were hot in the 70’s. Now, in his mid-forties, Joe’s turned his eye to paper crafting. He loves detail and 3D work and paper piecing is his specialty.

Joe’s work has appeared in Scrap & Stamp Arts, Just Cards (Volume 27, Fall 2012), Just Steampunk! (Volume I and Volume II) and Somerset Studio Gallery Summer 2012 magazines. He’s filmed a segment of Crafting at the Spotted Canary with Joy Macdonell (aired on PBS Fall 2011) and 2 segments for Scrapbook Soup TV (Season 2, 2012). He has won Archiver’s One-of-a-Kind Wall Art contest (Ohio, August 2011). He’s served on the Viva Las Vegastamps!USArtQuest and Want2Scrap design teams. He launched has his own line of chipboard albums and embellishments with Want2Scrap in the Summer of 2012.

When he’s not designing paper art projects, he works as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at Delphia Consulting and is the 2012/2013 Web Optimization Expert for the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA). He’ll be delivering one creative workshop and two business seminars at the CHA Winter 2013 show.

The adhesive would also look nice on old bottles to dress them up and turn them in to vases. You could also put designs on your wall or mirror. Looks like a fun product to work with 🙂
Thanks for all of your inspiration!
