I really like the Idea of using stencils with a dry medium. And the pan pastels make easy work of covering a stencil or masked area on paper!!!!
I think I’d like to try the pan pastels as a soft base color and t hen add detailed line drawings on top, trying to see how realistic I can make the drawings. To me, working with these pastels would be like using powdered makeup on my face, layering and layering.
I am very much enjoying stencils right now,so I would probably try that one first!

I always use pastel crayons, never used these before. I love to blend pastels with my fingers. The colors of the pan pastels seem brighter than crayons, I would love to try them. I would like to try them with stencils, with crayons or sticks that does not go well.

I too love the resist techniques. I just ordered some Prima resist shapes but now I can’t wait to try with a stencil and double sided adhesive like Joe showed us in his video.

I love how vibrant PanPastels look and I’d like to see how they go after stamping with a clear inkpad to make backgrounds and yes well, resist effects. I do not have any as yet but I’m sure I’d probably become quite ‘addicted’ to them if I did have some.

Ohh please pick me for this one!!! Keeping my fingers crossed here! I have been wanting to try pan pastels for a long timeout haven’t found a good place to get some. M favorite technique so far was the Dina one where she used embossing ink and spread some pastels over it.

I like Nat’s technique with embossing powder and sponging the pan pastel over the stamped image.
I have minimal experience with pan pastel but I love to mix colour when creating flowers from stencils and modelling paste – amazing effect with the pan pastels. I also love using black around the edges of things to make them pop.

I had a few of these in my cart at the art supply store but chickened out last minute! I already have so many supplies I’m scared to try. That day I bought light molding paste and now I’m adding it to everything so I’m planning to use these to color my paste before I use it on a stencil and I plan to use them to color my backgrounds.

I saw the highlights of Donna Downey’s video tutorial, the one with the heart canvas. All that texture! I would love to try that. Unfortunately Pan Pastels are nowhere to be found in South Africa and very expensive to import. (hint hint) 😉
I love these gorgeous pastels, they are truly unique and so pigmented. I love also the technique with versamark ink, I have a versamark brush pen – I got to try it out with the Pan Pastels. They are so soft and wonderful in backgrounds too, blending in each other. They have such an amazing range of use. ♥ Molding Paste loves Pan Pastels on top I have noticed 😀

I would try all the techniques I saw yet… expecially I love the softness an the great blending together.. would love to try them over stencils and would love to combine them with all the other mediums and colors I use such as distress inks / oil pastels / watercolors/watercolored pencils and acrylics….

I definitely love the technique of using Versamark with Pan Pastels….on the Pan Pastel blog, I am definitely loving using Pan Pastels over the crackle paste…..think this would be mind blowing on art journals as well as bare chipboard….so many ideas!!!

I have never used panpastels before and until this series I probably would not have worried about them as I do have plenty of pastels on my shelf, but after discovering they can be written over and they dont shed like other pastels I am so keen to try them. I love the softened look and the blendability of pastels but I hate the mess, the trying to get them fixed and the need for framing- and I just dont use the ones I have because of these issues.
I will certainly be trying panpastels very soon and would love to win some and share them with my students.
I’d like to try the tissue paper and stencils as a beginner. Your colors are so vibrant, yet soft.
I liked using the pan pastels with stencils and with stamped images using versamark.
The technique that impressed me the most was from Dina Wakely the stamping with the watermark ink pad and then applying pan pastel over it. I loved the look of this tone-on-tone image. Would love to try that!

The pan pastels look so beautiful when rubbed thru a stencil.
They make the page just “POP” .
I love the pan pastel colors! I love the way the colors so smoothly go through a stencil and bring such a pop to your page.
The embossing and watermark technique look like fun. I never heard of PanPastels before CJS…learning a lot!
I liked Nat’s technique with the watermark pad and also Dina Wakley’s technique.
First time I have seen these are here on Jumpstart, they look amazing! Would love to try them in a art journal with resist technique and some blending to create a background.
I want to try PanPastels over watermark stamping. I have been very curious about and intimidated by this product and after seeing both Nat and Dina use it in such simple ways, I feel it’s something I can definitely step out and try.
The resist techniques are intriguing.

I love the idea of using the panpastel over Golden’s crackle paste. I love that effect.
I would like to try rubbing the pan pastels over gesso or gel medium that has a texture.

No way can I pick just one.. I have the itch to try all the wonderful ideas of using this product.. but if I must choose it has to be the stamping resist that is first on my list to do 🙂 🙂

I have yet to try pan pastels but I am really excited to do so! I can see how versatile they can be. I love layering so I love that you can stamp, write or whatever on top of them! I also like the soft look it provides. I really liked the emboss resist technique I have seen so far. So many possibilities!
